Two-day beginners jewellery skills class with Jacqueline Bell, introducing the basics of stone setting. The class will run from 10am to 5.pm; suitable for beginners.
This workshop will teach you two ways to set semi precious stones; using silver tubing to set small round stones and constructing a setting for an oval stone.
You will also be given instruction on how to use jewellers hand tools to saw, file, bend, hammer and polish a piece of silver or a ring to set the stone (s) into.
You can bring your own designs for the shape of your piece, or choose from the drawings available, materials are provided for you to make a 2 or 3 cm stone set pendant or a ring.
This weekend will give you the chance to try out various jewellery techniques and take home your own original piece! The class will run from 10am to 5.30pm.
No experience required.
